English teaching from Class One in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: 25.03.2020: State Government has announced that the subject English will be included in the syllabus of the Government Schools from class one. Students of the Government schools in Odisha will be taught  spoken English from their first standard itself. The Government is going to implement it very soon. Mr. Sameer Ranjan Das, minister, school and mass education, GoO  has announced this in an event held in Nimapada, Puri. He stated that the students of government schools will learn spoken English and will be trained in speaking fluent English. They will be taught spoken English  from the class one. The state government is going to take this new initiative for the growth of education of the children in school level. He has announced this in the meeting organised along with the CRC, BEO, ABEO and Head Master of Nimapada Block School, Puri. Hundred schools will be selected from 30 districts of the state government. Those schools will be accredited as school of special excellency and a special section will be formed in these schools to give these spoken English classes. In these classes the attendance of both the students and the teachers will be taken online. The parents and the students have appreciated and welcomed this new initiative of the state government.  Like many other  previous steps, this will be another big step by the government for the development of education in Odisha.
