Odisha Panchayat Polls: Govt creates Pink Booth To Attract Women Voters

Bhubaneswar: Government of Odisha has set up special booths for women. These booths are called pink booths which are established in the headquarters of each block to fascinate and encourage the women voters to participate in the Odisha Panchayat Polls, as informed SEC secretary Rabindra Sahu.
As per the Reports, the speciality of the pink booths is all the officials including the presiding officer are women. Various blocks are preserving to set up punk booth system during this election such as Mahanga Block of Cuttack has set up a pink booth in  Kuanpal Primary School.
Likewise, the Malkangiri District administration has also formed a pink booth in Tamasa gram panchayat to attract women voters to participate in the panchayat elections.
As the first phase of the election jas begun from 16 of February, there are over 74,000 voters have cast their votes in three Zilla Parishad Zones of Malkangiri block.
About 13,785 booths have been notified as sensitive booths all over the State out of a total number of 91,913 booths in the first phase of the Panchayat Elections. As violence is erupting in many parts of the state due to the fury of the election, so both the district and police administration are on high alert.
