Chief Minister reviews locust invasion situation: Alert for 5 Districts

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik review the locust invasion situation in Odisha. CM discussed about the possible damage and precautions. Because of the wind movement, these insects moving towards Madhya Pradesh from Chhatishgarh. There is more probabilities these insects can come to Odisha. Govt is ready to face this situation.

The Central team had updated about these locust invasion. The Collectors and agriculture officials have taken responsibilities to tackle the situation. Authorities are keeping vigil eye upon neighbouring States like Telengana, Andhra Pradesh, Chhatishgarh & Bihar. The border districts of these States have been alerted.

The locust invasion threat is on Sundargarh, Baragarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar & Malkangiri. 15 Lakhs of farmers have been alerted. The Forest Dept, Agriculture & Horticulture Dept, Fire Dept will work together to tackle these deadly insects to enter into the State. The spray machines and chemicals are in stock to face the locust invasion.
