BJP saying double-engine, BJD is saying Naveen engine

Bhubaneswar, 10 May : BJD and BJP, are both the parties are in a firing spree at each other amidst the campaigning process of the state assembly election and the simultaneous Lok Sabha election. The continuous mud-slinging and blame-game retaliation have been taking place in each political rally from both sides. In the last political rally of BJP, Prime Minister Modi stated the expiry date of the Naveen government has aggravated the fray between the two parties. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik responded to Modi’s statement that the BJP is daydreaming about forming a double-engine government in Odisha.

BJP claims that if the party wins and forms government in Odisha, a double-engine government will ensure the much-needed developmental steps in the state which could be attained in the tenure of the BJD government. Baijayabt Panda, the Kendrapara MP candidate and BJP national vice president, has said only two people in a helicopter cannot run the government, referring to chief minister Naveen Patnaik and V.K. Pandyan. The state government is creating hurdles in the path of development of the state by not implementing the schemes of the central government.

The people of Odisha are only being used as vote banks in the name of freebies. The ground-level development is far from reality. The remote districts in the state are sidelined heavily and the tribals are particularly ignored. The Odisha government does not respect the future and ethnicity of the tribal communities. BJP has been criticizing the decision of the Naveen government to declare Pandyan as the political heir of BJD saying the former bureaucrat is not a native of Odisha but of south Indian origin. The chief minister of Odisha has been remotely controlled by a bureaucrat claimed by the opposition.
