Bhubaneswar: The inaugural edition of the Odisha Operative Arthroscopy Course (OOAC) 2025 is being organized under the aegis of the Odisha Arthroscopy Society and Kalinga Hospital Ltd. This prestigious event marks a significant step forward in advancing orthopedic and arthroscopy training in Odisha.

Prof. (Dr.) Ranajit Panigrahi, Course Director, a senior orthopedic consultant and renowned sports surgeon, is leading this remarkable initiative. His dedication to the field of arthroscopy and sports surgery is commendable, and his efforts in bringing together such an esteemed panel of experts deserve high appreciation.

With over 20 eminent national faculty members in arthroscopy and sports injury management participating in this program, this event offers an invaluable opportunity for more than 150 orthopedic surgeons from across Odisha and beyond. The sharing of knowledge, skills, and experiences will undoubtedly strengthen the expertise of young surgeons and contribute significantly to the field of orthopedic surgery.

One of the most notable aspects of this course is the live telecast of over five advanced arthroscopy surgeries from the Kalinga Hospital Ltd. OT complex to the scientific hall. This hands-on learning experience will enrich the knowledge of the attending delegates, providing them with insights into the latest surgical techniques and innovations in ligament and sports injury management. The interactive discussions, debates, and demonstrations will further enhance their understanding of modern arthroscopic procedures.

Sports injuries have long been a concern for athletes and sports enthusiasts, often forcing them to step away from their passion. However, with cutting-edge advancements in arthroscopic surgery, many sports professionals can now return to their previous levels of performance after injury. The benefits of such developments extend not only to our state’s sports fraternity but also to the general public who suffer from ligament injuries.

Mr. Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha acclaimed the Odisha Operative Arthroscopy Society, Kalinga Hospital Ltd., and Ms. Nilanjana Mukherjee, Managing Director, Kalinga Hospital, along with the entire team behind this event for their dedication to medical education and innovation. This initiative will undoubtedly contribute to the betterment of healthcare services in our state and improve the quality of life for many.
