Odisha Municipal Elections Scheduled for 110 Urban Local Bodies

Bhubaneswar: The election for Odisha Municipal Corporation is going to be conducted for 110 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), notified by the State Election Commissioner Aditya Prasad Padhi.
As per the reports, the 110 ULBs consists of 48 Municipalities, 59 Notified Area Councils (NACs), and three Municipal Corporations.
The SEC Aditya Prasad Padhi has concentrated on the preparation of an error-free Ward-wise Electoral Poll for the General Election to Urban Local Bodies in Odisha in an all- party meeting.
Besides that matters like voters list revision and municipal election preparations were prominently discussed in the meeting. It has been notified to the different political parties that direct elections is going to be held for the position of Mayor and Chairperson.
The polls for Councillor and Corporator is scheduled to be done through EVM machines in the forthcoming Municipal Elections. Each booth will get two EVMs for this poll.
The candidates are directed to submit affidavits compulsorily whereas without submitting the affidavid will cause the cancellation of the nomination, as per reports.
The expentures of the candidates in election soon  will be out in the revised list. After the primary voter list for the Municipal Election is released,  objections and suggestions from will be invited within the period of February 11 to 16 and will be assessed on February 18.
In addition to this, the final voter list will be ready by 24 February and handed over to the State Election Commission on February 28, said SEC Padhi.
It is worth mentioning that all the political parties are supposed to get a free copy of the primary voter list as it will be available for common people on payment.
