Panchayat Polls Nomination Filing Kick Starts In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The filing of nominations for the forthcoming general elections for Panchayati Raj Institutions ( PRIs) in Odisha has begun on Monday, 17, January.  This process is likely to go on from 17 to 21 January, whereas the nomination papers will be analysed on 22 January. The candidates can withdraw their nomination papers until 25, January as the final list of candidates will be released on the same date.

Candidates striving for the posts of Sarpanchs, Samiti members and Zilla Parishad members are busy assembling the required documents for filing nomination papers. As the number of aspirants is many, so different political parties were holding back to back meetings and discussions about finalising the candidates to contest the election at the last moment.

Alongside, the campaigning for this election is of its full flexibility. Candidates are doing door-to-door campaigns and requesting the voters to vote for them. Moreover, campaigns are going on through digital media and social media as well to appeal to the voters.

The Panchayat election is going to be conducted in five different phases on February 16, 18, 20, 22, and 24. The counting of votes and announcement of results will be commended at all the block levels on February 26, 27, and 28.
