Bhubaneswar: The central and state government policy for the pregnant women and the new born babies will be implemented jointly in Odisha. The Mamata scheme of the Odisha state government and the Matru Vandana Yojana by the Union government will be jointly practiced to the ground by providing Rs 10,000 in the birth of a boy child and Rs 12,000 in girl child birth.
The Chief minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi has announced this by stating the Mamata scheme is already in practice in Odisha whereas the Matru Vandana Yojana is going to be co- branding with it. Under this scheme the mothers of girl children will get Rs 2,000 every year for better health of both mother and the children as well as encouragement to increase girls’ birth.
Again this scheme indicates that the mother of the boy children is going to get Rs 10,000. Previously, the girl children used to get Rs 10,000, but this co- branding implementation will increase it Rs 12, 000. This benefit will be applicable in case of a maximum of two children. This two children provision will not be applicable for the PVTG. The Anganwadi workers will get Rs 250 instead of Rs 200 and the Anganwadi peons will be getting Rs 250 instead of Rs 50.
In this collaborating scheme an estimated amount of Rs 511 crores in the current financial year. The union government will provide 115.97 crores and the state government will give Rs 395.75 crores. There will around 4 lakh 50 thousand pregnant women and mothers will be benefited from this joint Yojana.
